About the Brand
Founded by Melly Adkins, Merci Dema is a streetwear brand built on a powerful concept — Vulnerable Luxury. The label celebrates raw emotion, storytelling, and cultural expression through its designs, merging streetwear’s authenticity with the elegance of minimalism. Every collection speaks of resilience and sensitivity — two forces that define Merci Dema’s identity.
When the brand began preparing to launch its new purse collection and influencer gifting campaign, Melly sought packaging that could embody these values: bold, minimal, and emotionally resonant.

The Challenge
Merci Dema’s vision was clear — every detail of the unboxing experience had to reflect its philosophy of “vulnerability as luxury.”
That meant:
A sleek black-and-white aesthetic that mirrored the brand’s clothing line
Distinct influencer boxes, purse boxes, and cotton dust bags, each customized by size and design
Text-driven storytelling printed inside the boxes — lines like “Midnight Petition,” “Midnight Confession,” and “Where Do Tears Go?” that carry emotional weight and cultural references
Durable yet elegant packaging materials that could hold their shape while maintaining the minimalist appeal
Later in the project, Melly wanted to extend the brand identity to black compostable polymailers and custom logo tape, ensuring every shipment looked and felt like Merci Dema.
It was a complex project with multiple packaging categories and design layers — all unified by one uncompromising demand: flawless execution.

Our Approach
From the first email, our goal was to deeply understand Merci Dema’s brand story and turn it into tangible, tactile design.
We began by:
Clarifying dimensions and materials for each box type to ensure both aesthetic harmony and practical efficiency.
Offering side-by-side prototypes — rigid vs. mailer box — so Melly could evaluate visual feel and cost balance.
Developing multiple design drafts featuring white-on-black contrast, interior text placement, and typographic hierarchy.
Providing free design consultation, iterating layouts for Midnight Petition and Midnight Confession until every line looked intentional and balanced.

When the first factory samples arrived, our quality control team noticed slight imperfections. Instead of shipping them out, we rejected and remade the samples proactively — a move that deeply impressed Melly.
“No other manufacturer has ever done that — you did QC on your own product before I even saw it. That level of care means everything.” — Melly Adkins
Over time, our collaboration grew from testing purse boxes to producing influencer boxes, dust bags, and later, fully branded polymailers and tapes — all featuring Merci Dema’s signature white tears logo and powerful phrases.

The Results
After several design rounds and sample refinements, Merci Dema received packaging that perfectly embodied its creative vision.
Influencer Boxes: Matte black mailer boxes with white centered logos, “Vulnerable Luxury” printed inside the lid, and “Where Do Tears Go?” at the base — a poetic finishing touch.
Purse Boxes: Customized in multiple sizes with bold typography and clean internal storytelling.
Dust Bags: Black cotton drawstring pouches printed with the “tears” icon — minimal yet symbolic.
Compostable Polymailers: Sleek, eco-friendly mailers with double-sided white logo print.
Branded Tape: Matching black tape with white logo to seal every order with brand consistency.
Through close communication and detailed craftsmanship, Panda Package helped Merci Dema turn its artistic message into a tactile, memorable unboxing experience.
