An independent apparel brand in the United States came to us with a familiar struggle. As a young business selling casual wear online, they didn’t need thousands of boxes at once—only a few hundred per order. Yet every factory they contacted pushed them to place minimums far beyond what they could manage. On top of that, international shipping costs were eating into their margins, so they needed packaging that was light enough to cut freight expenses but strong enough to survive the journey.
They also cared deeply about their brand image. Minimalism was at the heart of their aesthetic, and they wanted their packaging to reflect that: clean, simple, and aligned with their eco-friendly values. The challenge was finding a solution that balanced all of these priorities without breaking their budget.
At PandaPackage, we worked with them to design a lightweight mailer box that checked every box on their list. We used FSC-certified paperboard that could be fully recycled, giving the brand a sustainable foundation. The structure was engineered to be sturdy but not bulky, keeping shipping costs down while protecting the clothing inside. For the visuals, a single-color ink print was all that was needed—a subtle logo that complemented their minimalist style. Most importantly, we offered the flexibility of low minimum orders, starting from just fifty boxes, so they could grow at their own pace.
The final packaging solution became more than just a shipping tool. It allowed the brand to send every order with confidence, knowing that the box aligned with their values of sustainability and simplicity. Customers received their products in packaging that felt intentional and thoughtful, helping the brand tell its story even before the clothes were tried on.
